Erin Krebs has been teaching private lessons
for about 8 years. Erin really enjoys teaching
and she offers many effective teaching
techniques that she has picked up over the
years from college mentors, other teachers,
and her own experiences.
Erin earned her Bachelor of Music Education
degree from UW-Oshkosh in 2003 and holds a
current Wisconsin Educator’s License to teach
Instrumental Music for grades K-12. In
addition to teaching woodwind and brass
lessons, she teaches music and choir at The
Academy, a model school for Cambridge
International Academies USA, in Appleton.
The first instrument that Erin learned was the
flute, which she has enjoyed playing for almost
17 years. Participating in an excellent band
program in high school encouraged Erin to
pursue music education in college. While in
college Erin studied flute and bassoon
extensively, performing with the UWO Wind
Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic
Band, Double Reed Conspiracy, various
chamber ensembles, and recitals. As part of
her educator training, Erin studied other
woodwind and brass instruments. Her
teachers in college include: Dr. James Grine
(Flute), Dr. Andrea Gullickson
(Bassoon/Oboe), Dr. Charles Isaacson (Low
Brass), and Dr. Bruce Atwell (French Horn).
Not strictly an instrumentalist, Erin is also a jazz
and blues singer. She began this endeavor in
college, when she performed often with the
UWO Jazz Ensemble as the vocal soloist.
Currently, Erin sings with many local jazz
musicians and a blues band. Check out her
My Space page to hear her voice and find out
where she’s performing.
