Are you ready for some fun holiday fiddlin’? We hope so! Get ready to play,
improvise, and compose your own music as well as perform some of the great
fiddle tunes from around the world that people have been playing for hundreds
of years!
Fiddle Club as been transformed from a 3 person group in 2000 that met
intermittently in the summer to an over 40 member group with age and ability
ranges the span from beginner to adult professionals. What an exciting turn of
events! Fiddle Club has developed into a year round group which will include
rehearsals, sectionals, lessons, small and large ensemble work, special guests
and clinicians, day camps and tons of other opportunities.
Fiddle Club performed on the main stage of the Fox Valley Jazz Festival
(Menasha, WI) in 2005, EAA AirVenture Christmas in the Air 2006 and 2007, at
churches, and for other events throughout the Fox Valley.
Fiddle Club is a student-guided organization advised and directed by a team of
musicians who have a passion for music and the combined teaching and
performing experience of over 50 years. We will focus on techniques for musical
performance and fiddlin’ as well as the introduction of “Jam Camp” sessions into
our regular rehearsal time. “Jam Camp” is designed to create a no pressure
environment for which musicians can work on and be coached on improvisation
and other “jammin’” skills.
Requirements for membership: All members should be able to: read music and
play at the end of Suzuki Book 1 (equivalent or above for strings), read music /
chords and notation for guitar and bass AND ALL should want to: have fun,
perform, have fun, take musical challenges to be a better player, make new
friends, have fun and have a love for music.
Fiddle Club is not a replacement for your private lessons!
Required Materials: (can be purchased at Island Music)
BOOKS: Christmas Kelidoscope 1 and 2
Rehearsals 6:30-7:30pm Thursdays.

Registration:
This fee includes rehearsal instruction, small group, private instruction as
needed and sectional rehearsals.
